CALIBRATION BUNDLE

What You Get and How to Use It

The MAYA plugin has a calibration feature built in, so MAYA users do not need this Calibration Bundle. For other platforms, these materials will help you "dial in" your rig so that it works well.

  • "Test Controls one by one.csv" - a Loose Lips data file that makes keyframes to test each control on your rig, one by one, one frame at a time.  For each control, compare your rig to the reference.

  • "Phoneme Pose Test.csv" - a Loose Lips data file that makes keyframes to test mouth poses for "F", "L", "P", "TH" and "UW". A combination of controls goes into each mouth pose. These 5 mouth poses are the most important.

  • "Phoneme Pose Test with Added Columns giving English Examples.csv" - the same file as above, except with added columns giving examples of what phoneme it represents, and an example in English. You can open this file with any spreadsheet program such as MS Excel or Mac Numbers.

  • "Test Controls one by one.mp4"  - a video rendered from Daz using the keyframes from "Test Controls one by one.csv". Import this video into your animation platform at frame 1, and use it as a side-by-side reference.

  • "Phoneme Pose Test.mp4" - a video rendered from Daz using the keyframes from "Phoneme Pose Test.csv". Import this video into your animation platform at frame 1, and use it as a side-by-side reference.

MAYA

To get free MAYA rigs that work well with Loose Lips , visit Advanced Skeleton Character-Rigs.  We used "Clairee", "Chubby", "Conan" and "Cody" in our promo "Loose Lips Spokesperson Interviews". Many thanks to Advanced Skeleton and the original modellers for making these available.

We also bought an unrigged "Zombie" character and had it rigged with Advanced Skeleton. The Advanced Skeleton rigging system is awesome, and is great for setting up a MAYA rig to work well with Loose Lips.
